MEET YOUR STYLISTS
KEVIN
Kevin Kager comes from a long line of hair stylists and spent many hours in his aunt and uncle’s hair salon in Kansas City. There he got his first taste of a business that has been his calling ever since.
As a teenager in New Jersey, Kevin played soccer. But on top of being a good mid-fielder, he was the resident hair cutter, giving haircuts to all the guys on the team, even the coaches. Eventually he decided to turn his interest in hair into a career and was fortunate to get an apprenticeship on Madison Avenue in New York City.
“The years that I spent cutting, coloring, and styling hair in some of the top salons in NYC and working for some of the best names in the industry, including John Sahag and Peter Coppola, shaped my knowledge and expertise in hair.”
Living in Brooklyn with his wife, Kevin became one the most sought-after wig cutters in the close-knit Orthodox community. In 2017 he and his wife relocated to Wisconsin where he opened Kager Barbershop, becoming the community’s first barber to offer high-end dry-cutting techniques (at affordable prices).
LESLIE
Veteran hair designer Leslie recently relocated to Sheboygan to join her brother Kevin at his popular barbershop, Kager Barbershop. Like her brother, she learned the craft of dry-cutting from some of the best. For years she developed her skills under the tutelage of Beth Minardi on Madison Avenue in New York City. She also worked as a stylist on several television series -- as part of TLC’s production team for “Ambush Makeover,” and on the Style Network’s “A Makeover Story.”
“Since the age of 4, I loved to visit my aunt’s salon, sitting in the waiting chairs, watching Vidal Sassoon precision cuts videos… totally mesmerized! I am an active listener… with a fascination for others. My goal is to create strong relationships with my clients that reflect a respect for what we offer in our craft as stylists and colorists, while amplifying our clients’ experience in self-actualization."
